Terms & Conditions Related to Tour Services

    • Publication Errors

We do our best to ensure the accuracy of documents published on our websites and printed in brochures; however, typographical, illustrative, or pricing errors may occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors without notice.

    • Prices

All prices are in Canadian dollars, are per person, and are based on costs, tariffs, prices, airfares, taxes, levies, exchange rates and other considerations calculated at the time of tour planning, and are subject to change. Prices for tours with included airfare or cruise accommodations are subject to increase when booked close to departure:

      • within 120 days for cruises
      • within 60 days for flights

The reason is that after our unsold group allotments have been recalled and released, prices for reservations are based on availability and the current rates from these suppliers. The increased price for these components of the trip will be reflected in the revised quoted price at booking.

Paying a deposit will lock the land only price, and no surcharges related to costs or currency fluctuations will be added. However, even after the deposit is received, until the trip is paid for in full, airport taxes, fuel surcharges and taxes, and charges and levies imposed by a government or agency may be passed along. If the total price increases by more than 7%, the reservation may be cancelled without penalty, provided that the request is made within 7 days of being notified of the surcharge.

    • What's Included In The Price?

On our website, the trip details pages list the inclusions under the heading, “What’s Included.” Generally, tours include motorcoach transportation with a washroom, well-situated overnight accommodation, luggage handling (except at airports), the services of a tour director and local guides, all sightseeing, and meals and service charges as specified in the itinerary. HST is only applicable on vacations that overnight in Canada.

    • Gratuities

As a guideline, a gratuity of $5 per person per day for tour directors and motorcoach drivers, and $2 per person per guide for a local guide (or the equivalent in local currency) is suggested. When meals are included in the tour price, the gratuity is also included. For meals and beverages that are not included in the package price, the tour director can provide recommendations for tipping.

    • Guest's Responsibility

Tours in Canada reserves the right to terminate the vacation (or remaining part thereof) of any guest whose inappropriate actions or conduct adversely affects others, including our employees, other guests, and employees of partner establishments. A Tours in Canada staff member will make that determination, and if the vacation is terminated, there will be no refund for any unused portion, and all costs of returning to the point of embarkation will be borne by the guest. Tours in Canada reserves the right to deny a reservation.

Guests must comply with the laws, customs, and drug regulations of countries visited at all times, and this includes the laws regarding the carrying of prohibited or restricted items across borders.

    • Fitness and Accessibility

All tours are assigned a fitness rating. These levels describe the minimum required fitness that guests, or guest along with their companion, need to have in order to participate in a tour. Because of cleaning protocols and safety regulations pertaining to hours of service, guests cannot assume that they can rest on the coach while the majority of the tour group is engaged with an item on the itinerary. Further, it cannot be assumed that guests can opt out of more challenging items on an itinerary. If it is the determination of Tours in Canada staff that for the remainder of the tour, a guest will not be able to participate because of fitness or illness, the trip for that guest will be terminated. There will be no refund for any unused portion of the trip, and all costs of returning to the point of embarkation will be borne entirely by the guest.

Tours in Canada must be advised if a guest is planning to travel with a walker, wheelchair or scooter. With advance notice, motorcoaches can be modified to carry one scooter, and a limited number of wheelchairs and walkers. All are accommodated on a first-come first-served basis. For their own protection, Tours in Canada staff are not permitted to provide assistance in lifting scooters or guests. If a guest requires assistance from someone other than their travelling companion, the trip for that guest will be discontinued.

Guests who require the assistance of a service animal or will be travelling with oxygen must notify Tours in Canada of these items at the time of booking. This advance notice is required to notify the other travellers and to prepare the coach and staff.

If a guest requires assistance of a personal nature that cannot be provided by their travelling companion, Tours in Canada cannot accept the reservation. In accordance with the requirements of the “Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act,” Tours in Canada maintains an Accessible Customer Service Plan. The detailed Accessibility Policies can be found on our website by clicking on “Accessibility” , or they are available upon request by contacting our office.
